ESAFLOR HM 22 is a purified hydrophobically modified hydroxypropyl guar, which performs as an excellent thickener in cosmetic formulations and as O/W emulsion
stabiliser.

ESAFLOR HM 22 can be used in a wide-variety of Cosmetics and Personal Care applications. It is an ideal thickener, used also as co-stabiliser in high salt content O/W emulsions, showing an excellent synergy with Viscolam AT 100 P. In skin care application ESAFLOR HM 22 is suitable also for the manufacture of EO-free creams or cleansing milk formulations. Thanks to its polymeric structure, this guar derivative is highly compatible with the skin leaving a soft silk feeling after application.

ESAFLOR HM 22 is easy to use. It can be dispersed in water at room temperature under stirring; viscosity develops when the pH is adjusted to 5.0-6.0 or less. After the pH adjustment, a stirring time of 30 minutes is recommended to ensure the complete hydration of the polymer. Afterwards the other ingredients can be to the formulation, and pH can be adjusted to the desired value. For emulsions, add ESAFLOR HM 22 to the aqueous phase, adjust pH to 5.0-6.0, then add the other ingredients

Esaflor HM 22 should be stored in the originally sealed containers. Keep containers closed. Store in a dry place away from moisture.
