AAKO rewarded with Silver EcoVadis medal

Chemistry is the work of people. And people working with chemicals must aim for perfection. Not just for the chemicals, but for the entire society. AAKO has joined EcoVadis to monitor and improve our progress in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.

In recognition of CSR achievement, AAKO has been rewarded with a silver medal. “We are very proud of the fact that our efforts are recognized” said Suryn de Jager, Regulatory Affairs Manager at AAKO. With the silver medal, AAKO is one of the 30% highest rated companies. A nice fact, but there is plenty of room for improvement. “We have introduced standing desks to ensure a more healthy working environment for our employees. In the coming year we want to make the move to a paperless office. We are also working on putting measures in place to ensure execution of our policy.”

EcoVadis is a research agency that provides independent reviews, guidance on strengths and improvement areas on Corporate Social Responsibility. This CSR assessment takes into account numerous global issues and is divided into four main categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement impacts. These categories are based on a number of international CSR standards such as UN Global Compact.
