Nipaguard® DMDMH is a preservative that is highly soluble in water and adaptable enough for a wide range of personal care and detergent based products.

Nipaguard® DMDMH can be particularly effective in detergent- based formulations which can have some inherent antimicrobial activity, but which are susceptible to growth of some types of micro-organisms. Nipaguard® DMDMH offers the following benefits:
- broad- spectrum activity against Gram- negative and Gram- positive bacteria, yeast and mould
- effective over the range pH 3.0 – 8.0
- Retains activity in the presence of nonionic surfactants and most other common ingredients of personal care products
- Highly soluble in water and readily incorporated into products

Nipaguard® DMDMH may be used in many types of personal care products including shampoos, hair conditioners, creams, lotions, baby products, eyeliners, mascaras and almost all water- based cosmetics and toiletries.
Nipaguard® DMDMH is an ideal preservative for bulk surfactants.
The recommended use level of Nipaguard® DMDMH to preserve most product types is normally in the range of 0.15-0.4 % based on the total weight of the finished product.

pH stability
Nipaguard® DMDMH remains fully stable over a wide pH range from 3.0-8.0.

Temperature stability
Nipaguard® DMDMH should be incorporated during the cooling stage of hot processes. The recommended maximum handling temperature is 60°C.
