Raw material with pearl lustre properties for the manufacture of cosmetic formulations

Genapol TS powder is used as an opacifying and pearlescent agent in cosmetic washing and cleansing preparations. The intensity of the cloud producing and pearl lustre effect varies according to the concentration used, which is normally in the range 0.7 % - 3 % calculated on the basis of the finished product. The cloud producing or pearl lustre effect can be adjusted by modifying the cooling and the stirring time and also by alternating the stirring style. Preparations formulated from Genamin TS powder present a brilliant pearl lustre effect. The optical effect can be enhanced by  coloration with suitable colorants.

Genapol TS powder is compatible with anionic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants commonly used in cosmetics. It has no adverse effect on the active ingredients commonly used in cosmetic preparations.

Having a weak intrinsic odour only, Genapol TS powder does not adversely affect the perfuming of cosmetic preparations. Some perfume oil compositions affects the solubility of clouding substances and may thus alter the cloudproducing and pearl lustre effect.

Thermal stability The thermal stability of preparations formulated from Genapol TS powder is assured over a wide range - up to 40 °C depending on the concentration.
